Brookerflynn Architects have vast experience with a wide range of appropriate software and make continued investment in training, software and hardware to ensure the latest technologies are used, with a large proportion of our output now produced using Autodesk Revit.
We started the changeover from AutoCAD to Revit in 2009, on a selection of trial projects, but very quickly adopted it on our commercial work. We now have a broad expertise and considerable experience on all types of project, for both small and large schemes. In addition, we provide advice and presentations to clients, consultants and contractors on the benefits of BIM implementation and management.
The advantages of a BIM project to the client, are many and the change in the industry has been led by the government who require certain scale projects to be procured using BIM by 2016. We are finding, increasingly, clients are asking for projects to be undertaken in BIM and we are seeing welcomed adoption by others in the construction supply chain. A continued investment within the BIM infrastructure is enabling many specified products to be available as BIM objects.
With an intelligent 3D model, BIM projects allow greater understanding of a building at the design and planning stage. A building’s form and its construction from the outset can be easily seen. With some simple to use, free to download software, clients can easily interrogate and navigate around their project, finding potential changes and clashes at design stage, rather than at the more costly construction stage.
